About the Katy Trail
At 240 miles, the Katy Trail is the longest rails-to-trails path in the United States. It runs east to west across Missouri along the Missouri River, with Jefferson City near the midpoint — and one of the most scenic stretches of the entire route.
Katy Trail State Park →Built for the Ride
Right in the heart of historic Jefferson City, close to the trail, downtown dining, and the Missouri State Capitol. Everything you need for a great overnight stop is within easy reach.
Two upstairs bedrooms sleep up to six — ideal for a group of riding buddies tackling the trail together. Plenty of room to spread out and recover before tomorrow's miles.
Fuel up right. The full kitchen with granite island, under-counter ice machine, and an iconic 1923 farm sink is perfect for cooking a real meal, packing trail snacks, and rehydrating after a long day in the saddle.
The Carriage House features a beautifully remodeled walk-in shower — exactly what you need after putting in serious miles on the trail. Clean up and feel human again before heading out for dinner.
Keep your bikes safe overnight. The Carriage House has space to store your gear securely — no leaving expensive bikes locked up outside. Just ask us when you book and we'll make sure you're set up right.
After the ride, the private fenced porch is the perfect place to kick back, stretch your legs, and enjoy the evening. Cold drinks, good company, and no crowds — just how a trail evening should end.
More Than a Stopover
Jefferson City doesn't get the attention it deserves, and that's half the charm. The state capital sits right along the Missouri River with a walkable historic downtown, excellent local restaurants, craft breweries, and views of the Capitol that rival anything in the state.
Use Parker's Place as your hub. Ride the trail in the morning, explore the city in the afternoon, and have a real sit-down dinner at one of JC's local spots before turning in early for tomorrow's ride. It's the kind of stop that turns a bike trip into a real trip.
And if you're riding with the group but not everyone is on two wheels, JC has plenty to keep them busy — the Missouri State Penitentiary tours, the Capitol building, and local shops are all close by.
